A Simple Grooming Routine That Works
Wash, condition, comb. A barber's take on the three things most guys get wrong at home.
A good cut does half the work. What you do at home does the other half. Most guys overcomplicate it.
First, stop washing your hair every day with harsh shampoo. Two or three times a week is enough for most men. Daily washing strips the oils that keep your hair from looking dry and flat.
Second, use a small amount of conditioner. You do not need much. It keeps the ends from splitting and makes the hair easier to style in the morning.
Third, comb it, do not just rake it with your hand. A cheap comb and thirty seconds sets the direction the hair dries in. Get the direction right while it is damp and you will not fight it all day.
Skip the heavy products. A little pomade or cream is fine. A handful of gel that flakes off by noon is not. If your cut is right, you should not need much to make it behave.
Come in for the cut, keep it simple at home, and your hair will look better for longer between visits.
